Motivational Monday - Body Confidence

I just got a sudden urge to talk about this after seeing a post on Instagram. My friend posted a picture of herself in just bra and underwear with a caption explaining that its not summer so she can't pretend she's hot but she's posting the picture because she's feeling confident in her own skin.

Obviously at first it was quite a shock because I could never dream of doing such a thing but then I got used to it and feel immensely proud of her. Body confidence like hers is something to be admired and I know there will be people who will give her hate for it, saying its "slutty". Last time i checked it was none of their business what clothes she is (or isn't) wearing. Shaming girls for having body confidence is something that needs to change, and living in such a controversial, judgemental society makes it hard to love yourself. It's really important to remember that body confidence is something to strive to and you should never feel like other people are defining how you feel about yourself. You are beautiful!

I thought I'd include some quotes that help me when I'm finding it hard to embrace and love my body.
Happy Monday!

Windy Days

Jacket - All Saints, Top - General pants co, Shorts - Topshop, Boots - Boohoo, Sunglasses - Ray Ban

Autumn is definitely one of my favorite seasons. Especially living in Australia, where it’s not too cold but there’s still a hint of the winter wind coming in. After admiring and comparing many leather jackets, I finally bought one and could not be happier! They are so versatile and easy to style and surprisingly comfy and warm. I think I’ve been wearing mine just about every day for the past week.
It’s still fairly warm but I jumped at the chance of being able to layer up a bit more without doing the full coat-scarf-beanie combo.

I paired it with these patterned shorts (which just happen to be very colour appropriate for autumn), a white crop top, my black Chelsea boots and some sunnies. I’m more of a monochrome girl, so I rarely venture out from black, white and greys but today I went with a little pop of colour. I’m sure that going into winter, leather jackets will definitely be a staple for me.

What saved my skin - Ella Bache

I have been struggling with acne for about 2 years now and am constantly reaching for anything that could help clear it. I had never been to a dermatologist so I tried numerous products that ended up leaving my skin dehydrated and dull. About a month ago, I had my first facial at Ella Bache and I think I might just be addicted. Who knew that having your face massaged for an hour could be so therapeutic? I left with soft, hydrated and healthy looking skin and 3 products to try; the Ella Bache softening cream cleanser, the balancing serum and the gentle exfoliating gel.

Ella Bache Softening Cream Cleanser - The cleanser is recommended for normal to oily and sensitive skin and even though my skin is more on the dry side, it has still been a miracle product. I was a bit hesitant at first, as all the cleansers I have used in the past have been specifically for acne, but I can safely say this has cleared my skin better than anything with salicylic acid in it. I use this morning and night, and just massage it into my skin with my hands for about 3 minutes then wash off. The scent is nothing too fancy, very neutral and fresh.

Ella Bache Balancing serum - The balancing serum is a lightweight serum that contains vitamin C to help with brightness and texture and also helps to control breakouts. I apply 2 pumps of this each morning and night and within 10 minutes my skin looks instantly more radiant and hydrated. The scent is a gentle and slightly florally which helps to make you feel that extra bit awake, especially in the morning.

Ella Bache Gentle Exfoliating Gel - The gel is a gentle face containing rose petals to exfoliate and brighten your skin without being too harsh. It’s recommended for people with sensitive or dry skin but my sister  (who has oily skin) uses it and it still has the same effects.  I only use this once a week, but its gentle enough to use twice a week if you need to. The rose petals give it a sweet but clean scent, which is very uplifting, therefore making it my favorite scent out of the three.

After using these products for only 5 weeks, I have already seen such an improvement in the overall look and feel of my skin, and even if you don't have acne and just want some new products to hydrate and brighten your skin, I would definitely recommend trying to get your hands on these. They don't contain any harsh chemicals or colours so they’re perfect for a wide variety of skin types and although they are a bit pricey, they're worth the splurge.  I will absolutely be booking myself another facial soon; I think they might just be my new obsession…
What miracle products have helped your skin recently?

An Introduction

This is my first ever blog. Its taken me a while to decide whether blogging was something I wanted to do, and after a lot of consideration I've decided to put myself out there and write this. This first post is just an introduction of what's to come. After spending months researching and taking inspiration from people such as Zoella, Tanya Burr, Lauren Conrad and Sprinkle of Glitter, I have decided to start a beauty/fashion/lifestyle/hair blog. I am in no way shape or form an expert in these topics, I would just like to share my experiences and advice with you.

I could never imagine having hundreds of followers and that is not at all why I want to start blogging. I have a strong passion for makeup and hair and I have loved writing ever since I was a kid, and I think writing these posts would give me a lot of enjoyment. I am currently choosing to be mainly anonymous as I have not told anyone that this is something I want to do. All I want is to possibly help other people.

I have some ideas of blog posts I would like to do, ranging from my staple hair care routine to product reviews to fashion inspiration. All opinions will be my own. Like I said this is my first time so any advice or ideas would be appreciated. Obviously this type of blog post is just a one off as it is my introduction but I hope you will enjoy lots more to come in the future.

Like I said, I am not a professional, just a girl who enjoys putting a bit of lipstick on now and again.
